Password attacks tools target authentication mechanisms on different services in order to brute-force login and test the strength of credentials or access controls of those services.
These tools will help us to:
- Test login forms and network services (SSH, FTP, SMB, HTTP, etc.)
- Perform brute-force and password spraying attacks, very useful during CTF
- Crack hashes (offline attacks)
- Generate and manage password wordlists and permutations
- Identify weak or reused credentials
